Dear families,
The children are very excited about our Native American Unit.
We have learned about the origin of the 1st Thanksgiving and some
history of the Pilgrims and the Mayflower. We have also learned Native American
legends that the children love. We are working on making drums, pattern
necklaces and headbands and vests. The children also each gave themselves
Native American names this week, if you ask them what their name is they should
be able to tell you. Our letter of the week was “Kk” .Our tongue twister was
“Kendall and Kiana kick like kangaroos.”
We will be going to McQuades on Wednesday, November 19th.
. If you have not sent in your labeled bag of coins and permission slip yet
please do so. Thank you in advance. The children are so excited to go and so am
I. It is a great lesson in doing for others and is very meaningful especially
at this time of year. Also, please remember to send in a non-perishable food
item for our K-3 Food basket. I will be taking donations until next Friday
November 21st.I am looking forward to meeting with all of you next
week for our parent teacher conferences. Thanks for taking the time to come in
to talk about your child with me.
